Weekly Newsletter - 2/6

Dear Fourth Grade Families,
I hope you all had a great week. We were finally back to a normal week! The students practiced comparing fractions using different strategies and learned how to send a “secret code” in science. Please keep reading to stay up to date with reminders.

What We Are Learning:

• Literacy: Unit 5 – Technology for Tomorrow
  
• Spelling: Vowel-consonant-e syllable
  
• Math: Chapter 7 – Understand Fraction Equivalence and Comparison
  
• Bible: Unit 5 – Jesus Comes for Us
  
• Science: Unit 4 – Waves of Sound
  
• Colorado History: Prehistoric Colorado (wrapping up)
  

Reminders:

• Colorado History Center Field Trip: Our field trip to the Colorado History Center is next Friday, 2/13. This field trip will take place only in the morning. Students need to bring only a jacket and comfortable walking shoes. We will return to school around noon, and students will eat lunch upon return. Thank you to all who volunteered to drive—please reach out with any questions!
  
• Sand Dunes Field Trip: An initial letter was sent home last week with information about the Sand Dunes Field Trip. Thank you to those who have returned their slips. If you have not yet done so, please complete the bottom portion of the paper and return it ASAP so I can begin making reservations. Thank you!
  
• Math Test: Students will take a test over Chapter 7 on Tuesday, February 10.
  
• Chapel Offering: Chapel offerings (cash, checks) for the month of February are being collected in support of our five Love India program sponsored students. Thank you for sharing with these children so they can receive nutritious food, birthday and Christmas gifts, and a high quality Christian education at their school in Bangalore, India.

• Colorado History Center Field Trip: February 13
